Kerry M. John, OD, FAAO

Dr. John grew up in Clarendon Hills, IL; she is an alumnus of Benet Academy and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2000 from the Illinois College of Optometry and immediately completed a postdoctoral residency in ocular disease at the Illinois Eye Institute.  After 13 years of city life as a clinical instructor for optometry and ophthalmology residents, associate director of a LASIK practice, and an associate in several west suburban private practices, Dr. John is grateful to put her stamp on her homegrown practice.

After receiving her first pair of glasses at age 4, pediatric eye care is important to Dr. John.  She sees patients as early as toddlers, assuring that developmental vision is on track is key to academics.  She is licensed to diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye and diabetes. Dr. John also specializes in contact lens fitting, including convenient daily disposables, torics for astigmatism, multifocal contacts for presbyopia, and hybrid/gas permeable lenses for keratoconus.

Dr. John lives in Western Springs with her husband, James - their kids, Gillian (LTHS) and Liam (Highlands Middle School), and their dog Winston. In her free time, Kerry enjoys golf and travel.
